Lightning Strikes + Burst of Power

Postby Jarron » Wed Dec 05, 2012 12:59 pm

From what I've read:
LS increases chance to flurry, ie. 2 additional attacks with primary hand.
A flurry goes off after:
double attack check = yes => triple attack check = yes => Flurry attack check.

Ergo to flurry one must increase their double attack and triple attack rates.

Burst of Power increases triple attack by 5 skill.

I have only purchased 5 levels of LS and 0 levels of BoP (8 AAs per level!).
Those of you who have invested considerable AAs into LS, I'm assuming you built BoP into it as well. At what point would you say you had worthwhile results? (is BoP worth it?)

I don't have any proof, but I've read on the board that burst of power is just more useful than raising your charisma.

For the giant AA investment it gives a very small increase to your overall dps.

I do have LS maxed, and am happy with it

A thread on Steelwarriors.org suggests each level of BoP raises dps by 3%. That seems a stretch. But for the most part warriors say train flurry to max first, then triple attack aa's. And that they are both worthwhile.

I was only wondering if anyone had parsed the AAs for rangers. Looks like its time for someone to head to testserver.

Lmao so burst of power increases dps by 60%? I wish. Maybe all 20 ranks raise dps by 3%.

As you stated in the initial post, it takes a successful Triple to be able to Flurry.

But, part of the issue here is that Flurryies have a message, nd there are no messages for Single, Double, or Triple attacks (nor, for the 2h minded, is there a message for Punishing Blade). So people automatically assign a higher value to something they see as working.

Flurry is, generally speaking, more powerful than Burst of Power. You get the possibility of 2 extra attacks, compared to increasing the chance of the one pre-requisite attack to those one-to-two extras.

But, get both. More BoP can only help you, because more triple Attacks means more chances to Flurry. And Flurry is generally regarded as the more powerful AA line (of the two), so you would want to get that one anyway.
